Electrical Safety for Qualified Electrical Person
Purpose:
The aim of this course is to prepare participants to recognize and avoid the hazards involved with electrical work.
In accordance with the VESTAS standard for Electrical Safety
Training Outcome:
Upon successful completion of Electrical Safety for Qualified Electrical person delegates can:
- Understand the purpose of the Electrical Safety Program and the various Electrical Roles defined within it.
- Apply the Vestas Standards to select, inspect and use the correct PPE and Electrical Tools for the job.
- Apply the Electrical Safety Best Practices when working with or around electricity.
- Apply the Vestas Standards to identify Exposed Electricity and the Shock Approach Boundaries to it.
- Understand the different types of Electrical Work.
- Apply the Electrically Safe Work Condition procedure.
- Apply the Test for Absence of Voltage method according to the Vestas Standard for Electrical Safety.
- Understand the importance of job planning for safety.
- Understand how to respond to an electrical incident or injury.
Admission requirements:
- Participant is deemed to be a Qualified Electrical Person.
- The participant must have trade skills and knowledge related to the construction, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the electrical equipment and installations.
